25 kV AC Railway Interline Power Flow Controller (RIPFC)

Railway Interline Power Flow Controller (RIPFC) can be used to improve power stability and quality of the infrastructure. Simulations have been performed in this project and many results need to be analysed.

The solution proposed here is to use a common data platform to facilitate the analysis of the results. Useful post-treatment analyses can be done easily using the dashboard, such as the Total Harmonic Distorsion (THD), energy calculations, losses assessments, etc.

The innovation is to use the same data management platform to host and analyse simulation results as for other Smart Metering use cases. It allows adding easily results to obtain a large simulated database, viewable on Grafana dashboards. It is then possible to compare different solutions to improve the railway power system, such as RIPFC versus Conventional case versus Ideal case.
