Railway Infrastructure Maintenance Management in RFI

Currently, the railway infrastructure maintenance management in RFI is mostly handcrafted and relies on experienced operators to be effective and efficient. These operators cannot handle the whole infrastructure, therefore are assigned to a reasonably small subsection.

Asset maintenance is usually handled in a preventive or corrective approach. Furthermore, every time there is a need for a new activity, the maintenance plans need the be (re)scheduled and again this procedure heavily relies on best practice.

The goal is to exploit Predictive Analytics and Multi-Objective Optimization in order to support the operators by estimating costs and efforts for maintenance and generate different scenarios for the scheduling of maintenance activities.
