750 V DC power flow analysis

Energy flows in a railway system are fluctuating a lot and are not perfectly known.

 

The solution presented here implements a mapping of energies dedicated to the railway systems in commercial operation. It features time synchronization between rolling stock and infrastructure for a better understanding of energy flows.

 

Several user applications have been developed:

  • Interactive and customisable online dashboards to visualise electrical measurements.

  • A novel approach using machine learning to detect regenerative current breaking using only infrastructure data.

  • The validation and improvement of software simulations using real Smart Metering data.
